Today in Nigeria, there are
governors who use chattered aircrafts for their journeys that amount to
billions of naira, tax-payers’ money, in order to equivocate travelling on the
pit-of-hell called Nigerian roads that the governments have refused to
construct or reconstruct.
In
the city of Aba, Abia State, Odimegwu
Onwumere, a Port Harcourt-based media expert took this picture of a cripple in
his wheelchair struggling through a flooded road at Omuma Road of the area.
Now this is my state of origin, and I schooled there. I must confess that each government that takes over, just overlooks this part of the state like its leprous. Its a region where the bulk of indigenes/visitors carry out thier business. I wonder why the government decided to turn its into some death trap. What happens to basic amenities as projected in thier manifestoes? God help us by touching the heart of the next Governor come 2015.
